Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups white granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or good imitation
  • ½ cup colorful sprinkles (or more if desired) *

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
  2. Mix in the eggs, water, oil, and vanilla.
  3. Gently fold the sprinkles into the batter.
  4. Pour the batter equally into the lined wells of cupcake pans.
  5. Place into an oven that has been preheated to 350°.
  6. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until you can stick a toothpick in the middle of some of the cupcakes and it comes out clean or when tops of the cupcakes are just firm.
  7. Let cool and remove the cupcakes from the pans.
  8. Decorate the top with frosting of your choice.
